Alec Baldwin called out the press on Tuesday, speaking out about his altercation with a New York Daily News photographer.

The "30 Rock" actor allegedly punched photographer Marcus Santos outside the New York City marriage license bureau on Tuesday. His rep denied the account, saying that Baldwin was assaulted by Santos and was trying to protect himself.

Baldwin appeared on Charlie Rose's PBS program later that night, where he denied hitting the photographer. He told Rose that he and other celebrities "make appointments" with the press.

"We make ourselves available as an obligation per our contract to our employers to represent the product and help to sell the product," he said. "And then when I walk out the door, that's over. When the guy jumps out of the bushes with a camera and tries to take a picture of my kid, they want to say to you, 'Well, here's another appointment you have with the press.'"

He also claimed that the scuffle was distorted in the media. "You have your political opposition and they get on the internet, and within 30 minutes the misrepresentation of the story is out there," he said. "You go on Twitter or Fox Nation says, 'Baldwin punches photographer.' Not true.”
