'Anna Karenina' Trailer: Keira Knightley Brings Tolstoy To Big Screen (VIDEO)

WATCH: Keira Wows In 'Anna Karenina'

"There are as many loves as there are hearts." Thus begins the "Anna Karenina" trailer.

What follows is your basic boilerplate set-up for Russian tragedy: Anna (Keira Knightley) falls in love with a calvary soldier (Aaron Johnson), which is a problem since she's already married. Of course, you know all this since you probably read Leo Tolstoy's acclaimed novel at some point during high school or college.

"Anna Karenina" has been turned into a feature film countless times before, but this version has the sheen of recent Oscar success: Joe Wright ("Atonement") is the director, while Tom Stoppard ("Shakespeare in Love") wrote the adaptation. In addition to Knightley (who co-starred in both "Atonement" and Wright's "Pride and Prejudice") and Johnson, the film features Jude Law, Kelly Macdonald, "Harry Potter" actor Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley, everyone!) and Emily Watson.
