What's better than a free concert, especially when it's on the beach at sunset? Not much. That's why we're elated to announce that the Santa Monica Pier's Twilight Concert Series is returning for its 28th year, delivering a truly eclectic lineup of acts.
The concert organizers just released the lineup for the series of ten free shows, and it includes everything from electro-pop to salsa. There's even an "Australia Rocks the Pier" night on Aug. 2!
According to the promoters' press release, the Twilight Concert Series attracts tens of thousands of people annually, all of whom are eager to dance, socialize, and enjoy a lovely evening on the beach. As Pier Administrator Jay Farrand put it in the statement, "The Twilight Concert Series is about coming together for music and discovery in an amazing environment.”
The concerts will be every Thursday night, starting July 5 and ending Sept. 6. Concertgoers will enjoy a free bike valet and direct transport within Santa Monica via the Big Blue Bus. Parking will also be available in the lot north of the pier at 1550 Pacific Coast Highway.
To view the entire lineup, as well as videos and photos of the acts, check out our slideshow. For more information, visit the Twilight Series' website.
And don't forget to bring a beach blanket and a picnic basket!
