One would think that the very formation of a society is considered socialism by some.

Of the six purposes of government identified in the Preamble to the Constitution, conservatives only acknowledge and respect one. They are ideologically opposed to three, and use one as a political weapon.

This is a sick cheap shot on the part of yet another lying Republican. Lies get votes, as Romney is not adverse to proving, day in and day out. Misrepresentation and lies has become part of the Republican mainstream standard operating procedures - why? - Like I said, if you are a Republican voter, you will vote for a liar. God loves liars. Where has it gotten us?? Besides to the moon and back? Well, let me think. Philosophical thoughts about the common good aside, I consider it enlightened when the lights I use aren't being powered by a 12 year old digging coal; or the grandparents being stuck in an attic. Stuff like that. I don't see America in a steep decline. I see an economy shifting from externalization of costs to regeneration of resources.

When republicans throw the communist charge they do it in hopes that it'll bring memories of ole mother Russia, the 80's boogey-man. Democrats need to learn to use this same word (communism) when republicans taunt how we should be more like China or when republicans talk about how easier it is to do business in slave worker China compared to the U.S. where we demand a living wage for our workers. Republicans love the Made-in-China label.

Anyone who cares about democracy needs to be sure this idiot Eric Hovde is not elected. Didn't our country suffer enough at the hands of Joe McCarthy and HUAC which yielded permanent scars on our great nation and all that the founding fathers stood for? To have anyone in this day and age hurl this charge at a US Representative is reprehensible. Apparently it's a new GOP talking point especially since Mitt Romney has publicly stated that the Soviet Union is our biggest security threat, a statement that is as outrageous as it is false and then there's Allen West who is looking for 80 Communists in the Democratic Party. This lunacy has to stop.
