It was October 2010 that Charlie Sheen, Denise Richards and their daughters' trip to New York ended in disaster after Charlie trashed a room at the Plaza Hotel. But the unconventional family is back in the Big Apple, hoping this trip goes more smoothly.
“They all flew out Friday together," a close friend of Charlie’s tells me. "Both Charlie and Denise have press in NYC, coincidentally. His show premieres Thursday and Denise’s movie opens Friday, so they decided to jump on a private plane together and bring the kids.”
Saturday night, they were all seen having fun at the Yankee game, and Sunday, Sheen and Richards took the girls sightseeing around New York City, before their promotional engagements began Monday.
“They haven't been back here as a family since his Plaza incident and wanted to have a better trip than that one,” says the friend, adding that their strategy for a successful trip includes “good family fun, mixing their work with family time and staying at a different hotel.”
Sheen's new series, "Anger Management," premieres June 28. Denise Richards' new film, "Madea’s Witness Protection," opens Friday.
