James Hackett Arrested For Allegedly Throwing McDonald's French Fries At Stepdaughter

Police Bust Stepdad For Throwing Greasy Fast Food In Girl's Face

A Massachusetts man was arrested after he allegedly threw a container of McDonald's french fries at his 11-year-old stepdaughter.

James Hackett, his wife, and the girl were driving home after grabbing some fast food from a local McDonald's on Friday, according to a police report obtained by The Smoking Gun.

On the way, the married couple began arguing over money, according to the police account.

The 11-year-old interjected from the back seat of the vehicle in an effort to get the adults to cease their bickering.

Upset at the girl for butting in, Hackett allegedly threw the container of french fries into the back seat of the vehicle, hitting his stepdaughter in the face.

Officer Richard Cesarz noted that the fries were "hot and oily" and could have caused burning to the victim's skin and eyes. However, the child was not seriously hurt, CBS Boston reported.

Hackett's wife -- the child's mother -- reported the incident to police.

Hackett, 26, pleaded not guilty in court on Monday to charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was released on bail on the condition that he would stay away from the 11-year-old, according to The Smoking Gun.
