Deborah Norville, Former 'Today' Show Co-Host, Talks Ann Curry (VIDEO)

Ann Curry has been in the spotlight ever since word hit of NBC's moves to push out “The Today Show” co-host after a rocky year.

If anyone knows what Curry is going through, it's Deborah Norville. The Emmy award-winning, former “Today” anchor replaced Jane Pauley on the morning show nearly 25 years ago, a move that was met with media backlash. Norville was a co-host from 1990-1991 before being ousted herself in favor of Katie Couric.

Now an anchor at “Inside Edition” (where she's been for 17 years), Norville related Curry's situation to her own, telling Piers Morgan that the network isn't saying Curry did a "lousy interview" -– it’s more about how viewers feel about her.

"This is maybe a pothole in the road of her career," Norville told Morgan, "but it's certainly not the cliff she's going to drive off."

Norville may be right. Even though Savannah Guthrie (a "Today" host during its third house) is said to be her replacement, Curry will reportedly receive $10 million to leave the show and will have a “substantial” role at NBC.
