In case you ever wondered what happens when a gummy bear comes into contact with potassium chlorate, wonder no more.
This video has been around since 2008, but it's making the rounds again this week because, well, exploding gummy bears never get old. A Wired article from around the time it was uploaded reveals that it was created by Andrew Walls, a science teacher from St. Albans School.
Potassium chlorate is a powerful oxidizer that when heated, reacts violently to sugar.
