This might go without saying, but there's a right way and a wrong way to set off fireworks on the fourth of July. In fact, there are many, many, many wrong ways, as you'll see above.
For example: DON'T set them off inside your car or inside your kitchen cabinets. DON'T put a bottle rocket inside a cigarette and then try to smoke it. And definitely DON'T shoot roman candles at your friends or loved ones.
