Israeli rights group B'Tselem released a video on Monday that appears to show an Israeli Border Police officer kicking a Palestinian child.

The footage, shot by a B'Tselem volunteer, purportedly shows an officer kicking 9-year-old Abd a-Rahman Buqran while another officer holds down the child.

The incident reportedly took place on June 29 in the city of Hebron. According to B'Tselem, Buqran was walking past the officers when one of them grabbed the boy by the arm saying, "Why are you making trouble?" Another officer then approached the scene and kicked the screaming boy.

Times of Israel reports that Israeli Border Police responded to the video and issued a statement that “condemns the police conduct as contrary to its values.” An investigation into the incident has been opened.
