"My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding: The Aftermath": is it acceptable for first cousins to marry?

One of the most talked-about episodes of "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" Season 1 featured the wedding of first cousins Annie and Josh.

On the reunion special, "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding: The Aftermath" (Sun., 10 p.m. ET on TLC), Annie's sister defended her.

It turned out that the happy couple had only met two years before, and they hadn't known they were cousins.

"What about Thomas Roosevelt?" she asked in an effort to prove that lots of famous people have also married their first cousins. "What about Einstein, which is supposed to be the smartest man in the world? He married his first cousin."

Viewers on Twitter, meanwhile, were simply wondering who "Thomas Roosevelt" was.

"My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" Season 2 is due to premiere in 2013 on TLC.
