Katie Holmes has had a trying few days. Since it was announced on Friday that she had filed for divorce from her husband of more than five years, Tom Cruise, story after story about their relationship and Cruise's ties to Scientology have dominated the celebrity media.
Holmes was photographed out in New York City on Monday, for the first time since her divorce announcement, leaving the Parsons School for Design, where she was filming a guest appearance for the next season of Lifetime's "Project Runway: All Stars."
"This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family," Holmes' attorney Jonathan Wolfe told People on Friday about her divorce filing. "Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."
Meanwhile, as the drama continues to unfold, Cruise has been continuing filming his latest movie, "Oblivion," in Iceland.
