Kevin Van Aelst Creates Giant Fingerprints Made Out Of Everyday Food Items (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Giant Fingerprints Made Out Of Everyday Food Items

Artist Kevin Van Aelst is really great at making big things out of smaller things. More specifically, edible things.

Van Aelst explains this better than we can on his website, "This work is about creating order where we expect to find randomness, and also hints that the minutiae all around us is capable of communicating much larger ideas."

His Fingerprints series caught our eye, in particular, but then we realized his food arranging/carving/organizing genius didn't stop there. It's hard to pick a favorite, but we will say we especially love his Periodic Table of the (Gummy Bear) Elements. Select prints are available for sale, or you can catch Kevin's work in these galleries around the country this summer: The Stone Crop Gallery in Ogunquit, Main, Panopticon Gallery in Boston and The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, CO.
