When a Tampa man repeatedly punched his pregnant girlfriend in the face on Monday evening, the mother-to-be promptly bit the top of his finger off.
According to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, University of South Florida student Reginald Gefferie, 22, and his girlfriend Junie Dieujuste, also 22, were exchanging verbal barbs when the argument turned physical.
Gefferie, armed with a kitchen knife, forced Dieujuste into a bathroom, blocking her exit. He then pushed her and punched her in the face.
Dieujuste fought back, police say, fleeing to the bedroom where Gefferie barricaded the door with a dresser prohibiting her from leaving the room.
Deputies say he held her against the wall by her neck and continued to punch her in the face. It was then that the woman reportedly bit Gefferie, severing the top of his middle finger. Meanwhile, Dieujuste sustained a laceration on her forehead as well as contusions.
Gefferie is charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant female and false imprisonment. He is being held without bond.
And he'll always have a visual reminder of his brutal mistreatment of women. Doctors were unable to reattach his finger tip, reports Tampa Bay Times.
