Wimbledon 2012: Prince William And Kate Middleton Watch Roger Federer In Quarterfinals (PHOTO)

WIMBLEDON, England — Wimbledon got a dose of royalty on Wednesday as Prince William and his wife, Kate, came to watch the men's quarterfinals on Centre Court.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were given a loud ovation as they took their seats in the Royal Box ahead of six-time champion Roger Federer's match against Mikhail Youzhny.

British hope Andy Murray was set to play David Ferrer of Spain in the second match on Centre Court.

The duchess wore a white cable-knit dress with dark trim.

Last week, Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, made his first visit to Wimbledon since 1970. Kate's sister Pippa Middleton has also been to the All England Club during this tournament.

William and Kate also watched Murray play at Wimbledon last year.

The Royal Family represents oppression and violent domination of the "masses" to maintain a lavish "uber rich" life style and you people celebrate them and grovel at their feet. I think the Monarchy should be "cut loose". They certainly have the resources to fend for themselves. The fact that they are still paid money by governments illustrates their continuing power over you. Ask yourself why you worship the royals. Is it because they have the money to dress fancy or is it the fairy tale fantasy of being a princess that you hold in your (vacuous) head.

Not at all, when you say King William I of England, I think of my ancestor that invaded England with him. When you say King John of England I think of my ancestors that assisted the Barons in demanding the Magna Carta. When you say, Charles II of England and Scotland, I think of my ancestor deployed from England to New York to defend the new English terrority from its Dutch founders. When you say Queen Elizabeth II I think of my parents first year of marriage. Etc, etc, etc it is just easier to think that way.
