Bob Chamberlin, Oregon Firefighter, Rescues Dog Trapped In Quarry (VIDEO)

Brave Firefighter's Daring Dog Rescue!

People like to say that dogs are humans' best friends, but it can go both ways.

A 2-year-old pit bull mix named Daisy went missing last week, but was discovered Tuesday on a narrow ledge 50 feet down a 200-foot deep quarry in Gresham, Ore., on Tuesday.

After a team of firefighters and responders from the Oregon Humane Society couldn't lure it out with food, firefighter Bob Chamberlin rappelled down the quarry wall to rescue the dog.

Chamberlin took along a t-shirt belonging to Daisy's owner to let her know that it was safe, according to ABC News.

"As soon as she sniffed that she was right up against me and was ready to go," Chamberlin told CBS Oregon.

Apart from a bump on her nose, the dog wasn't hurt, but she was very thirsty, as can be see in the above video from Good Morning America.
