DETROIT (AP) — Utilities say more than 293,000 homes and businesses across Michigan are without power following several days of thunderstorms and hot weather.

DTE Energy Co. says about 210,000 of its customers were without power Thursday morning after a new round of damaging thunderstorms made its way across the state, knocking down trees and power lines. Since Tuesday, DTE says about 300,000 of its customers have been affected.

CMS Energy Corp. unit Consumers Energy says more than 83,000 of its customers were without power, including about 35,000 in the Flint area.

The National Weather Service says wind gusts above 60 mph were reported as storms crossed the state.

The storms come after severe thunderstorms Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Another hot and humid day was forecast, with highs in the 90s.
