'The Simpsons: The Longest Daycare' Trailer: Maggie Simpson Stars In Theatrical Short

Back On The Big Screen

Unless you're in the Twentieth Century Fox accounting department, it's easy to forget that "The Simpsons Movie" grossed $527 million worldwide after its release in the summer of 2007. As yet, there have been no concrete plans for a sequel, but that won't stop your favorite animated family from returning to theaters this summer. Fox will attach a "Simpsons" animated short to prints of "Ice Age: Continental Drift" when it hits theaters on July 13.

Called "The Longest Daycare," the short focuses on Maggie Simpson, who returns to the Ayn Rand School for Tots. The school was first shown in the classic Season 4 episode, "A Streetcar Named Marge."

The first trailer for "The Longest Daycare" is online now, and -- in a bit of "Simpsons" irony -- it's hilariously short. In fact, it's "the summer's shortest trailer," according to the Big Voice Guy in the clip.

Watch it above, and check it out in theaters starting on July 13. "The Simpsons" returns to Fox this fall for its 24th season.
