'Anger Management': Charlie's Therapist Slaps Him Repeatedly, Helping Him Have A Breakthrough (VIDEO)

Charlie Sheen Gets Slapped Repeatedly On 'Anger Management'

Charlie Sheen and executives at FX may have had a sleepless night after last week's series premiere, but the ratings came in massive for "Anger Management" (Thu., 9:30 p.m. ET on FX). Sheen's new star vehicle was the most watched scripted comedy primetime premiere in cable history -- excluding children's shows.

But speaking of sleeplessness ... on this week's episode, after getting some surprising truths out of his ex while she was sleep deprived, Charlie decided to try an experiment with his anger management group.

He set up a weekend session where no one would sleep, and then, at the end of it, they'd have a group meeting to see how open and honest everyone was going to be. But when his therapist -- who was supposed to back him up so he could sleep -- wasn't able to help out, Charlie wound up as sleep deprived as the group.

When Kate did show up, his deprived state helped him make a breakthrough of his own, about feeling that he'll never quite be good enough for his father. All it took was for her to slap him across the face repeatedly ... and maybe at least one just for the fun of it.

The ratings juggernaut "Anger Management" continues Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on FX.
