Aside from the countless parodies, one of the most hilarious things about Carly Rae Jepsen's runaway hit "Call Me Maybe" is the lyrics. Does anyone actually think those lines would work to get someone to call you IRL?
Well, it turns out that Carly Rae may actually be onto something with the direct, no-frills approach ("Here's my number..."). Rob from the dating show DiGiTS put the infamous lyrics to the test by approaching girls in Central Park and asking one very simple question: "Hey, I just met you. And this is crazy. But can I get your number, and call you maybe?"
The tactic may seem laughable, but you'd be surprised at some of the reactions. A few girls almost immediately handed over their number, while others even finished the song lyrics with him. Check out the video above to see the experiment in action.
Would you ever use this pick-up line? If someone asked for your number with "Call Me Maybe," would you give them your digits? Sound off in the comments below or tweet @HuffPostTeen!
