The best summer picnic food has its own day!
That's right -- fried chicken is celebrated every July 6, and we're here to help you celebrate deliciously.
While you can batter and fry some chicken yourself, why not go out to some of our city's famous eateries? We've compiled a list of LA's best fried chicken -- from soul food to gourmet bistros to chicken in a cardboard box -- so you can pig (er, chicken) out.
And in a few weeks, you'll get a chance to taste fried chicken "Papi Chulo" style. A-Frame chef Roy Choi is launching his all you can eat fried chicken picnics every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, starting July 14. At $18 per person, you get Choi's street-gourmet take on fried chicken, sweet potato deli salad and zucchini and cabbage coleslaw.
