Afghanistan War: Roadside Bomb Kills 6 In Southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan officials say a roadside bomb has killed six civilians in southern Afghanistan, while a rocket attack in the west killed one.

Police investigative director Gullab Khan said a civilian vehicle on Saturday hit the bomb on a road in southern Uruzgan province, killing six and wounding one. He had no other details.

In the western province of Farah, officials said one civilian was killed and another 27 people were wounded when three rockets were fired at the governor's office. Mohammad Ghaws Milyar, who is deputy provincial police chief, said that a motorcycle bomb detonated outside the building in Farah city at the same time.

Health department director Abdul Jabar Shayeq said seven children were among the wounded in the attacks.
