Vow Renewals: Couple Renews Vows At Illinois Insane Asylum

ThePlace Where One Couple Renewed Their Vows

One Illinois couple picked an odd place to recommit to one another: the old state mental hospital.

The PJStar.com reports that Rob Conover, a paranormal investigator, and his wife, Alesia, said "I do" again on Saturday July 7 on the porch of the now-empty Peoria State Hospital (originally called The Illinois Asylum for The Incurable Insane) -- a building that some, including Conover, say is haunted.

Though Alesia isn't a fan of the frights her husband of 25 years investigates, she was the one who suggested the location for their second ceremony.

She told the PJ Star that picking his favorite haunt "would make him happy."

The Conovers aren't the first couple to marry in a slightly scary locale: a Minnesota couple married next to their parents' gravestones earlier this year.
