Taking a cue from Walt Disney World and Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea opened a 3-D ride Monday, based on the Disney/Pixar film "Toy Story," reports The Japan Times.
Toy Story Mania! is an interactive ride in which passengers ride through a series of classic carnival midway games, and try to earn points by shooting balloon targets, breaking plates, tossing rings, and the like. It's located in the American Waterfront section of the park.
According to CNN Go, opening-day crowds waited upwards of 400 minutes to try out the new ride. The queue eventually shortened to a more manageable three hours late in the day.
The news site postulates that the crowd surge might be an indication that Japanese tourism has started to rebound from the 2011 earthquake.
Tokyo DisneySea is the fifth most visited theme park in the world, according to The Japan Daily Press.
