Joe Biden caused a stir Tuesday when he made a subtle sex joke about growing up with "thin walls" in his parents' home.
Biden cracked the joke while speaking at an annual conference for the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic advocacy group in Las Vegas. While sharing stories of his upbringing in the 1950s, Biden mentioned things could get awkward with so many family members under one roof:
“It was wonderful for children. By the way -- having your grandpop living with you, having your great aunt, your uncle, for real. Those walls were awful thin. I wonder how the hell my parents did it. But that’s a different story. I know you don’t know anything about that. I know none of you in your families have done the same thing.”
While the joke elicited laughs at the conference, CNN's Soledad O'Brien had a much different reaction. On Wednesday's "Starting Point," O'Brien cringed after watching a clip of the speech.
"Really?" O'Brien asked. "Really, the sex joke?"
