Resorts World Casino In Queens, N.Y. Has Been Plagued With Crime Wave

New York Times:

Along with over 5,000 blinking, whirring digital gambling machines, the new Resorts World Casino, opponents predicted, would bring a surge of crime to Queens when it opened last year.

Nine months later, police officers from the 106th Precinct have been a familiar sight, arrests frequent and acts of violence disturbingly common. There is, in fact, a crime wave plaguing the cavernous halls of this mega casino: people punching gambling machines.

It's a given. All casino games are rigged from their inception, in favor of the house. You have to be a degenerate to keep at it. Get yourself into a 12-step program. If you go to casinos you need help.

If you can't remember and respect rule #1 - the odds favor the house - ya' got no business playing these things. I am sure excessive doses of alcohol fuel the anger as well. Take a friend - a GOOD friend. Set a limit and make sure your friend knows the limit. Play your games - and when the limit is reached, it's time to leave. And if your friend is a true friend, they will make sure you leave before anything inordinately stupid happens. Been doing it that way for 30 years and haven't broken a hand in anger yet. And I have managed to win on ocassion.

I think you're righton. I have not seen such behavior at my local Indian casino. I've not seen it in Vegas either so this is news to me.

I have seen people banging on slot machines I just don't get it..YOU voluntarily put money in and then try to beat it out of the machines..If that was the idea, we would ALL take a baseball bat when visiting any casino...
