By now you've heard plenty about how bad sitting is for our health. And a recent study has shed even more light on why we really do need to sit less and move more.
In fact, these researchers found that sitting for fewer than three hours a day can add up to two years to your lifespan.
For many people, the big obstacle is work. Anyone with a desk job knows all too well how tricky it can be to tear yourself away. And people in a number of other professions -- like truck and bus drivers, for example -- really have no alternative.
Luckily, the weekend presents an opportunity to make up for lost time. Instead of spending your days off on the couch, here are some of our favorite ways to move more this weekend. (Calorie counts are based on a 150-pound person as estimated by MyFitnessPal.)
