Seven episodes in, and the layers of Sheriff Walt Longmire are still being peeled back episode by episode. It's a slow process, allowing viewers into his mind bit by bit and piece by piece. That makes Walt's motives sometimes as much of a mystery as the case of the week on "Longmire" (Sun., 10 p.m. ET on A&E).
This week he revealed a tidbit he was clearly ashamed of while working a case dealing with adultery. He said to his partner Vic, "I cheated on my wife."
As Walt is a man of few words, that was about all she was going to get on the subject. But Vic was able to put two and two together. "Is that why you were drinking?" she asked. "Guilt?”
Walt's silence in the moment seemed to confirm her suspicions.
Vic's having some trouble of her own at the homestead, as her beau is frustrated with the demands of her job. But is he justified in feeling this, or just feeling a little controlling and possessive. If it's the latter, he should just as soon get over it. Nobody controls Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff)!
