The kindest thing you can say about Thomas Jane’s 2004 movie The Punisher is that it’s the best Punisher movie by default, since the character also inspired a terrible 1989 film starring Dolph Lundgren and a terrible, terrible, terrible 2008 film starring Ray Stevenson. But the experience of making the movie apparently stuck with Jane.
