Anthony Weiner Running For Mayor? 'That's A Clown Story, Bro'

Weiner: 'That's A Clown Story, Bro'

Amidst rumors surrounding Anthony Weiner's potential run for New York City mayor in 2013, the former congressman showed recently that after a year out of the spotlight, he's still got a sense of a humor.

In a recent Wall Street Journal story delving into the mayoral ambitions of embattled City Comptroller John Liu, Weiner responded to the question of whether he's considering a run, simultaneously winking and avoiding an official answer.

"It's a clown story, bro," he said.

Weiner, of course, was referencing the viral video of 19-year-old Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper. In June, when a reporter asked Harper what beer he was going to drink to celebrate a home run, Harper responded, "That's a clown question, bro."

(Weiner isn't the first politician to riff off Harper's quip. See: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.)

Before Weiner resigned in disgrace last Spring, he was undoubtedly one of the most entertaining politicians in Washington. And so, if Weiner does in fact do that tell-all interview about the sexting scandal and his future in politics, here's to hoping he's got a few more jokes up his sleeve.
