How do you catch a cheater?

We asked our followers on Twitter and Facebook to tell us how they caught their exes straying. For some, it was as simple as walking in on the misbehaving spouse mid-act. For another, a stranger's speedo served as obvious evidence that his spouse had been stepping out.

She left her e-mail up with a picture she sent to me of her getting out of the shower and also forwarded it to another guy. This is when the first iPhone was out and she had no clue that her Yahoo was saving sent messages and I found quite a few more. A website was open too and it had a hotel listed where she was "spending the weekend with her mother and aunt". So I drove 5 hours to that hotel to find her with her mom and aunt. Come to find out, that's the only true thing she told me in months.

By the time she came home, I'd already rented a U-Haul and moved every piece of furniture out except for the bed in two hours. She hunted me down at a friend's house and punched me in the face. I leaned in and she punched me again right in the nose. She turned to run away and ripped her arm open on the corner of a rusty metal stair rail. Best thing that ever happened to me. I was about to propose in a few weeks in Jamaica to her and now I'm married to the most wonderful woman I could imagine.

Wife came home late and was ready for bed. When she got undressed I noticed what looked like spots of dried semen on her lower back. I asked her what are those crusty spots on her lower back. She pretended like she didn't know what I was talking about and went into the bathroom to check herself in the mirror. Her story was that she must have sat in something that bled through her blouse. I checked her blouse and it didn't have a stain on it in the area mentioned. She then said she didn't know what it was and proceeded to hop in the shower. After she got out of the shower and dried herself off, I calmly told her that the next time she is with a man having sex to make sure she takes a complete shower instead of just wiping up with a hand towel.

Hmmm. How about me and my ex had just married and we had an infant son, while staying in a spare bedroom at my parents house, temporarily. My ex's pseudo-"step-daughter" also stayed there across the house in her own bedroom. (She was the same age as me, by the way.) My Dad gets up in the middle of the night to get some water and watches my ex literally sneaking in, on tiptoe, to to this supposed "step-daughters" room. So my Dad sneaks up to the door and listens to them having sex, whereupon my Mother gets out of bed and seeing this, listen's as well. For only a moment, of course. Because she throws the door open and literally drags my ex off and outside...

Mine was caught because he had to use my computer when his went belly up. I found his "still open" email on my computer and he was busted.

He later told me he thought he left the email open "on purpose" because he was having a hard time "telling me" and he wanted to finally get it "off his chest".

Took him 3 years!

To me that is the "unforgivable sin" in a relationship. If you're going to cheat, have enough decency to leave the current relationship first.

Just found out tonight. For months she had been getting texts all through the night. When I asked her about it she would say that it was some sort of robo call or other nonsense. Being a fool and devoted family man I always gave her the benefit of the doubt. Last night she received a text at about 11:45 in the presence of some friends who were over visiting. When I asked who it was she said that it was our daughter. I called my daughter who confirmed that not only had she not just text-ed but she hadn't spoken to her mother all day.
This morning I checked the cell phone records and found over 2,000 texts from the same number going back 3 months. These texts were spaced minutes apart throughout every day of the past months. I also found brief phone calls from the same number. I got the caller's name and address from a search. When she came home tonight she I confronted her with the information I had found. She initially denied it and eventually admitted to being "just friends" I asked what kind of "friends" are a married woman and a divorced man who spend every minute of the day and night texting each other? She denies having sex and rationalizes that it isn't an affair. I really don't know what to do at this point.

Divorce. Even if she hasn't been physical with this dude, she's been lying to you about the texts for months and lied at first when you confronted her. That's enough for me to leave, I would never be able to trust her again.

Thank you. I just started a reply and seemed to have lost it so if you get this twice I apologize. I fee like an idiot because for the past couple of days I have allowed her to make me feel like I was responsible for this because I treated her badly when in reality I have struggled for 17 years to grant her every wish for bigger houses, new cars, vacations, restaurant dinners and more, It forced me to live beyond my means and required working 16-17 hour days at the end of which I would have to cook for my self if I wanted to eat. I worked 8 hour days on weekends doing up keep on our home and rental properties while she relaxed in the sun and never as much as helped me rake a leave! I care so much about my children that I was wiling to beg and grovel to get her to stay. She passed out drunk in front of my children and several guests on July 4th and still thinks that I should move out and leave her the house and children. Unfortunately, we live in a no fault divorce state and her mother ( who raised two children with 3 adulteries and 2 divorces between them so far) is willing to provide the money for a high priced divorce lawyer and, because I am struggling financially, I will have to represent myself in court. I am heartbroken.

I found out via Twitter that I had a cheater on my hands. The guy I had been seeing told me he was going to visit a friend at a nearby college, and I didn't want to ask questions because we had only been dating for a little while and I didn't want to seem nosey. When he didn't contact me all weekend I thought something was going on, so come Sunday I decided to check out his Twitter page (we followed each other) and my questions were answered. He tweeted the girl (who has the same name as me) about how he was sad their weekend together was over. Busted.

Mine: Walked in my apartment to find my neighbor making out with a friend of my boyfriends (both were engaged to other people) and my boyfriend screwing some other chick on the floor.

Needless to say there were three relationships ended that day because I took it upon myself to inform the other partners.
I think that's a record for me...three in one day.
