Katy Perry Does Karaoke: Raps Will Smith's 'Welcome To Miami' (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

Karaoke is only fun when it's not taken seriously (no one wants to hear you belt out that Adele song perfectly) and though she has killer pipes, Katy Perry is well aware of that rule.

The 27-year-old pop star looked and sounded like she was having a blast when she took the stage at a karaoke bar on Catalina Island called El Galleon, reports TMZ.

A video posted on YouTube on Wednesday shows the singer, who used the stage name "Katherine," and a pal rapping along to Will Smith's 1998 jam "Welcome To Miami."

The duo did karaoke the right way -- with plenty of humor. You can see Katy's natural stage presence coming through as she adds her own zany brand to the song.

It also sounds like the singer might have had a couple of drinks before she hit the stage, as she slurred, "I looove my best friend."

Perry's divorce from husband of 14 months Russell Brand was finalized on July 16, so perhaps she was celebrating her official status as a single woman.
