Century 16 Shooting: Aurora Movie Theater Cancels All Showtimes

Following the horrific Century 16 shooting in Colorado that left 12 people dead and 50 injured, the Aurora movie theater, owned by Cinemark USA, has canceled all upcoming showtimes, according to its website and Fandango.

Cinemark USA Chief Executive Timothy Warner responded to reports in a brief statement given to television reporters Friday morning.

"Cinemark’s thoughts and prayers and focus are on the family, victims, and employees in Aurora, Colo.," Warner said, The Los Angeles Times reports.

"We're also very grateful for the quick response of the police department and emergency response team, which has undoubtedly saved a lot of lives by their quick response. At this time we really don’t have a lot more facts or information than is out there in the public press. As we get more information we promise you additional press statements, but right now we’re focused in our concerns on the victims, their families and employees."

The incident took place around 12:30 a.m. during the midnight release of "The Dark Knight Rises."
