'Mountain Men': Tom Oar Takes Aim At A Grizzly Bear That Has Invaded His Property

While most people worry about rodents or other pests getting onto their property, Tom was faced with one of the world's most deadliest animals when a grizzly bear came near his house on "Mountain Men" (Thu., 9 p.m. ET on History). The mountain man was fearless in his handling of the bear.

With rifle in hand, he first tried some shouts to try and scare the animal away, before ultimately resorting to the gun. While the bear cleared away, it was impossible to say how far it had gone in the dark.

Nevertheless, Tom deemed it necessary to go to the shed to make sure the bear hadn't got into any of his stores. If it had, it may have left things in such a state that other animals would come and finish the job even if he was successful in keeping the bear away.

Luckily, both Tom and his stores came out of the encounter okay.
