Stacy Peterson On Drew Peterson Witness List: Alleged Wife-Killer Calls Missing Former Wife To Stand

SHOCKING Name On Witness List For Drew Peterson Murder Trial

Attorneys for former Bolingbrook police officer Drew Peterson have made a shocking move in advance of Peterson's trial for the murder of his fourth wife, Kathleen Savio, which is set to begin July 31.

Chicago Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed reports that Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, who has been missing since 2007, is named on a list of witnesses to potentially appear at Peterson's murder trial.

Peterson is facing murder charges in the death of his third wife, Savio, who drowned in a bathtub in 2004. Her death was ruled an accident, but after Stacy Peterson went missing three years later, police re-opened the investigation into Savio's suspicious death.

Peterson has maintained that his wife is alive, and claims that she likely left him for someone else. In December he requested an apology from Illinois State Police for casting "a huge cloud of suspicion" on him by stating that his wife is "missing and presumed dead." Drew Peterson has not been charged with any crimes relating to Stacy Peterson's disappearance.

Some are speculating that naming Stacy Peterson is a strategic maneuver to emphasize the defense's position that she is still alive.
