On Friday, Maupin's beautiful home hit the market. The three bedroom, two bath, 1,606 square foot Craftsman house was built in 1907 and boasts a great location with expansive views of both the bay and downtown.

Maupin has lived in his fabled "Tales of the City" home since 1993, the year his groundbreaking novel was released as a mini-series.

Three New York Times bestsellers were written inside the house, including Maupin's autobiographical work The Night Listener.

The historic Parnassus Heights property costs a whopping $1,198,000.
