The mind of Carrie Mathison is a haunting place, at least that's what we've gleaned from this new "Homeland" Season 2 teaser starring Claire Danes.
The teaser features Danes standing still, but cuts in and out with quotes and images from the first season of the Showtime hit. Could Carrie be getting her memory back after her shock treatment therapy? There are plenty of cuts to Danes giving the intense looks that recently landed her an Emmy nomination.
Season 2 of "Homeland" kicks off on Sun., Sept. 30 at 10 p.m. ET, but Danes' real-life pregnancy won't affect the series. The new season picks up six months after the Season 1 finale.
"Carrie has had, for the first time in her life, the benefit of professional help for her disease," "Homeland" executive producer Alex Gansa told HuffPost TV's Maureen Ryan. "She will have been in the psych ward for awhile. She will have been in the care of a psychiatrist for six months. She will have undergone a series of these ECT therapies. [The treatment we saw in the Season 1 finale] is not just a one-off."
Find out what Danes had to say about her Emmy nomination in the slideshow below.
