Madonna Waves Fake Gun Onstage Hours After Aurora Shooting

Madonna has flashed her left nipple and her right nipple during her MDNA tour. She has appeared with swastika imagery and held a concert in Poland on the country’s World War II Remembrance Day. But now the Queen of Pop might have gone too far, waving a fake gun onstage in Scotland on Saturday soon after the Aurora, Colo., "Dark Knight Rises" shooting Friday, despite having been advised by Edinburgh police to cut the fake guns from her show.

"Madonna would rather cancel her show than censor her art," a member of her tour staff told me. "Her entire career, she has fought against people telling her what she can and cannot do. She’s not about to start listening to them now."

The Daily Record reports that Madonna was warned not to brandish weapons -- even fake -- before her Murrayfield show. She joked to her audience that her show might be "cut off" because of Scotland’s tough gun laws, which went into effect after the 1996 Dunblane massacre. However, her show wasn’t stopped and Lothian and Borders police said no action will be taken over her display of fake firearms.
