Ready for a celebrity chef's food truck fantasy?
For one day only, D.C. toque Mike Isabella of Graffiato and the newly-opened Bandolero will take to the streets and join the motley ranks of Washington’s food trucks -- with a few twists.
On Wednesday, between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., a Graffiato truck will cruise the nation's capital as Isabella tests out what a press release calls his “food truck fantasy.”
A collaboration with CityEats, the glass-encased truck will offer free samples from Graffiato’s menu, according to Eater, which describes Isabella's one-day mobile journey as "a bit of a publicity stunt."
Customers will also be able to test their gourmet knowledge with an ingredient-guessing, “Challenge Your Palate” contest and win prizes ranging from a free lunch at Graffiato to a signed copy of Isabella’s new cookbook “Crazy Good Italian” to iPods.
The truck’s locations will be as follows:
8 a.m.: Dupont Circle –- Q Street NW between 20th Street and Connecticut Avenue
11 a.m.: Union Station -– Corner of Massachusetts Avenue and F Street NW
1 p.m.: Franklin Park -– Corner of 14th and K streets NW
4:45 p.m.: Farragut North -– K Street NW between 17th Street and Connecticut Avenue
