Mitt Romney Foreign Policy Embraces War, Americans United For Change Says

As Mitt Romney delivered his first major foreign policy speech in nine months on Tuesday, liberal advocacy group Americans United for Change released a web video targeting the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for naming foreign policy advisers who worked in President George W. Bush's administration during the unpopular Iraq War.

The video spotlights members of Romney's foreign policy team who led the charge in Iraq, pointing to their miscalculations, false claims and so-called enhanced interrogation techniques.

The video's overall message? "If you liked the war in Iraq, you'll love Mitt Romney's foreign policy."

While Republican Super PACs have been blasting Obama for months in swing states, the Obama campaign's first anti-Romney ad is up now: Swiss Bank Account.

Leave it to a rich guy with no military or foreign relations experience to be the champ of future wars. But you will never see any of his sons laid up in Walter Reed or in a grave because they served their country. They will be too busy investing in the private contractors and other corporations associated with war, just like their daddy.

romney wants to keep the troops in Afghan land until 2014. Why? It means more money for his military contractors and his offshore accounts. Obama brought our kids home from Iraq and is now bringing them home from Afghan territory. Thus far, he's kept them out of Syria and Iran. Good. No more American's need die in sand triangle. If they become too dangerous for the rest of the world, bomb them past their current stone age status and move on. No more troops on the ground. No more PTSD.

Finally Romney comes clean with something and probably the only thing so far, but at what cost to us? All along he said he would increase the military budget by alot. Without a doubt with a statement like building a military second to none. A failed Pakistan. China a military threat. That America's role in the world be an exceptional one, and our military be second to none. We will maintain military supremacy. We will act alone to protect our interest. Iran building a nuke unacceptable. Increase our Navy from 9 ships a year to 15 ships a year. His remark on his plan for our role in the middle east made it clear where our interest will be. Folks, I thought we were worried about our debt? Where is all this money coming from? And this acting alone and a military second to none sounds too much like GW Bush nation building and we all know how that turned out and who will bleed and die for it. When they said Bush on steroids they weren't kidding!

How many Americans must die in the Middle East for nothing? Intelligent people know that the conflicts in the Middle East have been raging for centuries and will continue for many more centuries. Syria is a fine example. Most of the rebel fighters are foreigners. Might be Al Quiada, and we are supposed to supply them with weapons? They never were or will be our allies and spending one red cent on them would be a disgrace.

President Obama has been smart about dealing with foreign conflicts. It takes a good leadership to not always use force. A Republican as Commander in Chief would be like a child with a hammer.

War is an absolute certainty under a Romney Presidency. Who else would he promise to quadruple defense spending with Iraq in the history books? Perhaps he wiould bomb Iraq again?

Did you catch Romney yesterday in the VFW speech. He used the word "criminal" when he described Obama. It was played back several times and even the GOP commentators agreed that is what he said. "Our criminal president" was the phrase. Most thought he misread the teleprompter. Should have been "current president". But no correction from the Romney campaign indicates otherwise. The Gop is rotten from the bottom to the top.

Dem messaging is failing. While I've seen a few Obama ads mentioning the failed policies of Bush, enough hasn't been said regarding Bush and the Neocons. As a former one-term governor/vulture capatilist/Olympic organizer, Romney is indeed clueless in so many ways so he's relying on Bush's buddies who are crawling out from under their rocks to help him.

Bush, one of the most unpopular presidents ever will now have his people once again running the country. Are you kidding?

Romney will gut social safety net programs and dump all that money into the defense budget, his policies will actually increase the deficit. Repubs only worry about paying for everything when a Dem is in the White House, otherwise they don't care.

Conservatives are crying about jobs lost from cuts to the defense budget. Since when did they care that budget cuts meant more unemployed?

Romney dodged military service as his sons have; very easy to be a war mongerer when your life has never been touched by the horrors that can come with military service while at war.
