Looking for little ways to add more joy to your life? In this exclusive Becoming Fearless video, Arianna Huffington shares some of her own "joy triggers" and offers advice on how to build an attitude of gratitude.
As Arianna explains in the video, one of her joy triggers is hiking with friends. In her book "On Becoming Fearless," she writes,
Three or four times a week, instead of going to lunch, my friends and I go on a hike. We observe a strict policy: Everything that is said on the hike stays on the hike -- or "in the vault," as we call it. The other rule is that the one -- or ones -- in better shape talk on the way up and the others on the way down. Recently, we did a birthday hike for a friend. We hiked to Inspiration Point at Will Rogers Park in Los Angeles, toting along backpacks filled with healthy food. We put a tablecloth on a picnic table, opened individual minibottles of champagne, toasted the birthday girl, and feasted on cheese, vegetables, and fruit -- okay, and on some dark chocolate.
The 10-part Becoming Fearless video series is sponsored by Toyota Corolla and will run through August. Hosted by Arianna Huffington and inspired by her book "On Becoming Fearless," the series will explore how fear affects our lives -- while celebrating the strength, courage and resilience that result from overcoming it (or at least trying to).
During the course of the series, Arianna will be joined by noted individuals -- Martha Stewart, Sherri Shepherd, E! News anchor Giuliana Rancic -- as they examine fearlessness and its impact on love, money, parenting, work, health and beauty.
