Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis are guaranteed to bring laughs to their new film "The Campaign," which hits theaters nationwide on August 10. And the two funny-men are known for being hilarious on pretty much all of their guest appearances too. Even though Will Ferrell was alone promoting the film on "Late Show" (Weeknights, 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS), Galifianakis was with him in spirit.
And in the form of a rather unique birthday present. What's the appropriate gift to give someone when they turn 45, as Ferrell did this past July 16? Galifianakis kept it simple and just gave him a check.
Of course, it was for $5 million. Ferrell said he had no idea Galifianakis was worth so much, but then mentioned that he was advised to "wait to cash it."
"There might be a hold on it," Ferrell explained.
Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis square off in "The Campaign," coming August 10 to theaters. "Late Show with David Letterman" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
