Aurora Shooting: United Airlines Offers Free Airfare To Grieving Family

United Offers Free Airfare To Grieving Family Of Aurora Victim

United Airlines is stepping up in a big way to assist the grieving family members of one victim of the Aurora Shootings.

The airline is offering to fly about two dozen relatives of Alex Sullivan, who died at the theater on his 27th birthday, from their homes in Rochester, N.Y. to Denver to attend memorial services, according to a Facebook posting on United's wall.

United confirmed the news with a brief statement to HuffPost Travel: "All of us were impacted by these events, and we want to help in any way we can."

Sullivan's uncle, Bob Schwab, who posted the message, called it "an amazing gesture." Another relative told a Rochester-area TV station that "It's a fantastic example for my kids. It shows what this country is made of."
