Mindy Meyer, the 22-year old Orthodox Jew and self-proclaimed "Diva Of The District" running for the New York State Senate, appeared on Good Day New York Wednesday to discuss political ambitions.

Dressed in what we can only assume is the same hot pink blazer she dons on her flashy website, Meyer tells Dave Price and Rosanna Scotto she was first inspired to enter politics after an encounter with former mayor Rudy Giuliani when she was 11-years old.

Price then bluntly asks, "Why the shtick? Why not run a completely serious campaign?" Meyer defends:

I don't have experience with corruption. My website is predominantly to target my young constituents and to get people out to the voting booths. At this year's presidential elections with more people voting, I just want to show people politics can be exciting and the senate doesn't have to be a senior citizens home.

Meyer is then presented with a series of photos of prominent New York politicians including Dean Skelos and Sheldon Silver, both of whom she doesn't recognize at all.

But surely the budding politician would know of Governor Cuomo, right? Not exactly. Following Meyer's arrival in the political spotlight earlier this week, Capital New York asked her about Cuomo to which she responded:

I'm not familiar with him in particular, his issues and, you know, and everything about him. You're asking me how I would work with him? Yeah, so, I guess I would have to see if I was elected.

  • Inspired By "Legally Blonde"

"To be honest with you, the reason why I initially wanted to attend law school is because I'd watched Legally Blonde and saw Elle Woods." - <a href="http://www.cityandstateny.com/diva-district/" target="_hplink">Mindy Meyer</a> (at least she's honest?)

  • Promises To Use Her "Religious Values And Moral Compass"

"I can tell you one thing, I have no experience in corruption," <a href="http://mindymeyer4senate.com/meetmindy.html" target="_hplink">said Meyer. </a>"This is how politics has to change. There is always corruption, but I have the intention to follow my values and ensure that none of what happens in my district is corrupt."

  • Stop-And-Frisk

"Stop-and-frisk is when a police officer who is suspicious of an individual detains the person and runs his hands lightly over the suspect's outer garments to determine if the person is carrying a concealed weapon. As long as an officer has reasonable suspicion, a stop and frisk is constitutional under the Fourth Amendment. Mindy believes that skin color does not warrant a "reasonable suspicion."

  • School Choice

"Mindy believes that parents have the right to school choice. Mindy will "vouch for vouchers!" It's all about enabling and providing opportunity."

  • Take On Crime

"Mindy intends to crack down on crime. Specifically on domestic violence by advocating for women in violent relationships and ensuring that they have a safe place to go and receive the necessary help that they need. She also intends to help our young involved in gang related activity by restructuring their lives by helping them work toward a degree."
