Michael Westen just can't catch a break. On this week's gut-wrenching and pivotal episode of "Burn Notice" (Thu., 9 p.m. ET on USA), he managed to put to bed -- in one way at least -- his central mission from the beginning of the season. But in that same moment, a tragic new chapter was opened that could take him down an even darker path.
Michael's brother Nate has gone through a lot of changes throughout the run of the show, but this week he wanted to take on the mantle of the hero. And when he got the man who burned Michael in the first place at gunpoint, it was truly his moment.
And then it was his final moment. Out of nowhere, a sniper gunned down both Anson and Nate. Michael was there to see it go down, and managed to be by his brother's side in the final moment of his life.
It's a moment that not only shattered Michael, but shattered his relationship with his mother and in a way, everything viewers thought "Burn Notice" was about. Now, Michael and his team will be on a new quest to find Anson and Nate's killer.
The drama continues on "Burn Notice," Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on USA.
