Save-the-date videos are catching on as a creative, fun and free way to spread the news about your upcoming nuptials.
Stop-motion animation, silent film-style acting and mimicking viral videos and movie trailers are just some of the ways couples are spending a little more creative energy -- and a lot less money -- to tell family and friends when they'll say "I do."
Interactive save-the-dates and eccentric invitiations were also some of the key wedding trends identified by experts for the 2012 wedding season.
But videos aren't the only DIY save-the-date idea that can showcase your creativity as a couple. Martha Stewart Weddings suggests trying notepads, matchboxes or balloon save-the-dates if you'd rather save the videography for your Big Day.
In the video above, New York couple Michael and Jackie Justin are shown in their kitchen, covered in chocolate, whipped cream and eggs, attempting to make a pie with the date of their wedding on it. Watch the video to see the unique way they finally finish their pie.
