Win or lose doesn't really matter; you find out what you've got, what you're made of. Knowing yourself allows you to measure yourself against the next task and move forward with confidence.

How true. We are conditioned to draw our self worth from our external environment. No wonder so many people who make major changes to their appearance end up indulging in self sabotage. Their minds are still cluttered with the original "stinkin' thinkin' that tells them they'll never really be good enough, even if they've managed to achieve the coveted Barbie/Ken ideal. Alas, being human, I am also guilty of fallibility. I have to remind myself every day that I am worthy of oxygen, and to treat myself with respect and kindness, even if there are others who don't recognize my right to exist.
