Posted: Updated:

In the canon of young adult literary classics, no book holds more universal appeal or has inspired a more devoted following than the Harry Potter series. The books that we grow up reading leave a lasting impression on our young minds, and for millions of people, following the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione was an unforgettable part of their childhood.

So when an image combining every chapter illustration from the series went viral last week, it spread waves of literary nostalgia around the Internet. After the image was posted on Reddit by user ajcfood, an emotional outpouring from loyal Potterheads almost immediately followed. Scroll down to view the full image below.

"The experience of reading these books has, for most people, been such an enjoyable and rich experience; people of all ages from all around the world can relate to these stories in some way," said creator A.J. Cabrera, who started reading the books with his kids as a camp counselor, in an email to the Huffington Post. "Or perhaps it is because the books are just so creative that when we are reminded of what it was to read these chapters, we are reminded of how our imaginations were lit up."

Reddit user thequesogrande aptly sums up the wealth of positive responses to the image with the following comment: "I honestly didn't expect the feels I felt. That's a defining piece of my childhood right there. So many memories are tied up in those images. Thank you."
