If Ted Cruz does score an upset over David Dewhurst in tomorrow's Senate Republican runoff in Texas, a new poll shows it could be viewed as a"deep repudiation" of Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

As a proud Texan I welcome any news that helps get rid of Perry. He has embarrassed our State with that disasterous run for the presidency. He made GW look smart and I never thought that could be possible. I am so sick of this state siding with the Repubics.

I'm with you, nietow, as another proud Texan. Cruz might be the lesser of 2 evils. I think Dewhurst thinks hes running against President Obama. In his ads, he talks about president Obama a lot. That gets on my nerves.

Cruz winning the run off would be more than just trouble for Perry but big trouble for Texas and the GOP. It's one thing to elect a few baggers to Congress in a small Southern State as happened in SC or to run one for the Senate in a small Northern State as in DE but Texas is significant, big and rich. Given the import there and the contrast with a somewhat more populated and rich state such as California which has ridded itself of the Tea Party, we would have a real demonstration of which philosophies and economic models this country should go. My money is on California.
