Watta Pure Water's Upskirt Ads Use Controversial Paparazzi-Style Photos

The Trashiest Way Possible To Advertise Bottled Water?

Buzzfeed's Copyranter calls our attention to what may be some of the sleaziest ads for bottled water you've ever seen.

Ad agency Avance WWP created these paparazzi-esque ads for Watta Pure Water, to run in the Guatamalan market. Comments on the product's Facebook page have been, to say the least, unsupportive.

Wrote Facebook user James Dylan: "Sexist and degrading advertising, would not drink. Very stupid ads. People aren't as stupid as you think."

Another user, Tracy Milne wrote,"If your goal in this advertising is to ensure the Watta name is remembered, then you succeeded! I will always remember which water to never buy. Well done."

A commenter on the original Buzzfeed post, SarahDane, at least has a plausible explanation for the ad:

The ad shows a sort of celebrity getting off a car with no style at all, legs spread with no regard she could show the paparazzi the panties or if she wears none.

The water covers it all, label says “agua pura pero con estilo” (“pure water yet with style”) - in the twisted mind of who created this, the purpose was to show some woman (= $$ profit, especially barely dressed) no class, and cover the no-style thing with theyr “stylish” water.
